Description | A PhD Fellowship in Polymer Science is available (in the Polymerization Process Group) at the Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa (www.polymat.eu). The candidate is expected to enroll in the PhD program: Química Aplicada y Materiales Poliméricos (Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials) at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) at Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain. Applicants must have a BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering (or a related discipline) and an MSc where the candidate had acquired knowledge on Polymer Science. A background in Polymer Reaction Engineering or Chemical Engineering is highly desirable. Good command of written and spoken English is a must (if preselected, a telephone/skype interview will be carried out before the final selection is made). The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, write project reports, scientific papers, and deliver a PhD thesis in English. The subject of the PhD thesis is based on the in-line/on line monitoring of the particle size and its distribution in industrially relevant emulsion polymerization processes using Photon-Wave Density Spectroscopy (PDW) and Turbidity Spectroscopy (TUS) This research will be carried out within the context of the European Project (Horizon 2020) NanoPAT in which the technology developers and a polymer latex producers will be our partners. Applications should be addressed to the following email address: miren.aguirre@ehu.eus (Dr. Miren Aguirre) before July 15th, 2020 (applications will be considered upon arrival) including:
Please note that because of the large number of applications expected, we will not be able to give
