WE HAVE SAN SEBASTIAN CONNECTING TALENT PRIZE WINNER

The engineer Itziar Estévez will pick up the I San Sebastian Connecting Talent Prize next March 15, an award that recognizes professionals from San Sebastian, or who have maintained a close relationship with the city, who have carried out an outstanding international career in the field of research, business or innovation in its many facets.

There are many people who have had a close relationship with San Sebastian and are now developing distinguished careers in the field of R&D and innovation beyond our borders.

Pay attention because the moment has come for them to receive some much-deserved recognition thanks to the San Sebastian Connecting Talent Prize.

 

What does the San Sebastian Connecting Talent Prize consist of?

It is the first edition of a prize that aims to put a name to professionals who are developing successful careers or projects in the field of innovation, in its broadest sense, beyond our borders.

This recognition aims to establish a present and future connection between these people, the centres and cities where they are working, with the San Sebastian innovation ecosystem.

Who can opt for the San Sebastian Connecting Talent Prize?

Any person who fulfils the following requirements could be the first to win this prize:

  • People were born or have studied or worked in San Sebastian and are developing a career outside the Basque Autonomous Community in the field of technology, science and innovation.
  • Professionals with a distinguished career who are developing R&D and innovation projects, and which contribute or may contribute in the future, to increasing the international projection of San Sebastian as a City of Innovation, hence extending its potential for talent attraction, retention and return.
  • They can come from all levels of education and professions (universities, companies of all sizes, start-ups, NGOs, government institutions, freelancers, …)

Who can put forward a nomination?

If you are over the age of 18, you can put forward a maximum of two nominations no later than 18th January 2019.

If you fulfil this requirement and know somebody who deserves this recognition, you need to present the following information:

A copy of your ID Card or Residence Permit, Passport or Tax Code.

Personal information related to the person you would like to nominate.

A description of his/her professional career and his/her ties with our city.

4

A brief explanation of why you believe this person deserves to receive this recognition.

This information must be included on the San Sebastian Connecting Talent Prize nomination proposal form.

It is important to fill in the nomination properly, as it will not be accepted if it is not well-reasoned.

Bear in mind that the Fomento de San Sebastián selection committee may contact the candidates or those who have put forward the nomination to request further details on the information provided.

How to present the nomination?

Once you have all of the information, fill in the prize nomination proposal form.

  • Monday to Thursday: 9am – 6pm
  • Friday: 9am – 2pm

The time has come to give the well-deserved recognition of the city to that person with a distinguished international career in research, business or innovation.
