IE Business School has published the study “Donostia-San Sebastián a City in search of Talent and Innovation“ developed by Borja Santos Porras, Executive Director of the “School of Global and Public Affairs” – IE University.
This expert in public policies, in collaboration with Fomento San Sebastián, has researched and analyzed the innovation ecosystem of San Sebastian and its challenges. A work that concludes that San Sebastian “has a political and institutional will to become a city of innovation and entrepreneurship”.
It is a 16-page case study in which it describes the history of public policies to support innovation and entrepreneurship in San Sebastian. It also develops issues related to the size of the city, the shortage of talent in certain specialties, internationally competitive salaries and the brain drain.
The study was carried out thanks to the Connecting Talent Residence Program, promoted by Fomento San Sebastián. This program allows professionals who are outside the Basque Country to make a stay in San Sebastián to look for entrepreneurship opportunities through projects and new businesses based on knowledge and innovation.
In addition to facilitating the transfer and accommodation, people who receive the Residence Program receive a financial contribution.
